As the moon shined lighting up the sky she stood there in the cold wrapping herself to make it feel a little warmer. She shifted her gaze to the streets, to the pedestrians, to the cars. She kept going back to the same thought over and over again but feelings clouded her judgment. Her heart took over and she softened up. She never took herself as the vulnerable kind, the weak kind, the kind with achilles heel. She had a weak spot. She took another sip of coffee as she moved her hair off her face. She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe. She blinked repetitively and fast in order for the tears not to rush down her face. The memory of it is suffocating her, its haunting her. She's terrified to go to her room. The coffee cup slipped and broke down to pieces, scattered on the floor as she squeezed her head and squinted her eyes while screaming her lungs out as if she was trying to forget about it, wipe it from her memory. She opened her eyes and noticed the cup. 'I need help.' She collected the pieces and went down back to her apartment. She remembers it all as if it was yesterday. He had big hazel eyes, short messy brown hair, he was trying to grow a stuble cause he thought it'll make him look bad ass. He was wearing his black suit with a funny purple-ish tie. He was almost 22 and had a job interview. ‘One black coffee please, in the biggest cup possible’ he said in the most nervous tone. she was one of the silent observes who sits in the corner of a coffee shop where everyone knows her usual and watches people as they come and go while she reads every single detail about them, analyzing them for fun. He grabbed her attention. He was shaking, mumbling words, walking around waiting for his coffee, glancing at his watch twice every minute thinking he can freeze time if he does it. She laughed at him unconsciously. He looked at her and knew what she was laughing at, ‘WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LAUGHING AT? YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?’ She slurped her coffee in fear as she thought about every possible way she can prevent conflict and defend herself. she looked him deep in the eyes and said: ‘I’m sorry i didn’t mean to laugh at you but you look too nervous to the point that i can’t take you seriously, i don’t think anyone will.’ His face turned into all shades of red. ‘Yeah? What do you suggest then? This is my first job interview and i’m one step away from shitting my pants.’ She couldn’t stop herself but bursted into laughter. The silent watcher was now the loudest person in the shop. He was about to leave and be the bigger man in this situation when she stopped him. ‘Be confident. Be firm. Shake hands and don’t stutter. I know its not easy as it sounds but you can practice with me.’ He took a deep breath and noticed her for the first time. He softened and smiled as he looked at how beautiful she looked in her own way. She had her hair in a high bun it was dark brown with some highlights, she was doe-eyed, with her glasses on and red cute cheeks. It struck him, he wanted her. A friend, a lover, a wife he didn't care as long as he had her. His heart started beating faster and couldn't breathe. 'Aaaah, ummm, mmm, I-I-I-I I think i need to um to go.' He stormed out without his coffee cursing, thinking how dumb that move was, trying to breathe normally again. 'Excuse mee, the guy with the purple tie, mister.' he looked back knowing who she was. 'I think you forgot to take your coffee and i thought you needed it to calm the hell down.' She said as she laughed at how confused he looked.
